Let’s start with the fact that Denmark boasts the oldest national flag in the world. The white cross on a red background has symbolized this country since 1625. Furthermore, its design is believed to have originated in the early 13th century. When it comes to the colors of flags (not just the Danish one), they often refer to the history of the respective country. Red color often signifies blood shed in battle or extraordinary courage. Blue usually indicates peace and freedom, while black represents overcoming enemies or ethnic heritage.
Not everyone knows that the study of flags is called vexillology. Its subject of interest includes both older and newer flags, their symbolism, principles of creation, composition, and significance. Vexillology also seeks to demonstrate the important role flags play in the 21st century.

It’s also worth mentioning the flag of Qatar, where the length is 2.5 times greater than the width, or the flag of Togo, which has very specific proportions – they clearly stand out from others.
And are there flags with dragons on them? As it turns out, absolutely. For example, Wales has a flag featuring a red dragon on a white-green background. The same creature is present in many Welsh myths and legends. It also symbolized Cadwaladr, who in the culture of that country is a redeemer.
